Yodogawa Christian Hospital Director Norihiko Nakanishi

The Yodogawa Christian Hospital was built in 1955 with the support of the Southern Presbyterian Church in the United States.

In this long history, we have been involved in pioneering contributions in the medical community in Japan: exchange transfusion as a treatment for a incompatible blood type, early installation of the medical social work department in Japan, rescue efforts in flooded areas caused by the Ise-Bay Typhoon, engagement in volunteer activities, the successful operation to separate Siamese twins, installation of a hospice facility for patients with terminal cancer, to name a few. Also as our hospital was built with the support of the church in the United States, we have been providing international assistance to developing countries.

The Yodogawa Christian Hospital runs not only the main hospital, but a branch hospital, institute for healthcare improvement, senior care home, renal clinic, dermatology and neurology clinics, a home-visit nursing station, and a ladies hospital.

We are preparing for the relocation of our main hospital to a new location (it is scheduled for completion in 2012), and seek your understanding and support for us in our projects.
